New Species of Underwater Bone-Eating Worm Found
Chilling.
The two new worm species are distantly related to worms found on underwater sea vents deep in the ocean and comprise their own new genus dubbed Osedax, which means "bone-devouring."
Chilling.

Lluon All In One
This is pure speculation, but I am willing to bet that the new iMac will look a lot like this. Imagine this same kind of "all in one" stand with either a 20" or a 23" Apple Cinema Display (and a port for the iSight right on top). I'm expecting Apple to push the "media hub" angle even harder with the next gen iMac suspect that an integrated TV tuner and FM remote control will be included with all but the lowest iMac models.

Motorola delays MPx220
Grrr! Maybe i need to just get the slightly less cool, but available and MAD cheap Sony Ericsson T637
Motorola has formally announced its upcoming Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart phone ... but its introduction has also been put back, from Q3 to Q4, a new press release reveals.

Motorola V3 "Razor"
I thought the MPx220 was pretty cool, but the svelt new V3 makes it look like a cheap toy. Unfortunately V3 is expected to cost $650-700, so i think it's safe to say that i will end up get the 220 anyway.

DSM-320 802.11g Wireless Media Player
J$ and i saw this at Fry's the other day. I was tempted to try it out, but figured that there was no way a $200 device was going to live up to the hype, even if it does have component video and digital audio out, but this review seems rather bullish on it and claims that it can play back VOB files.
Buy.com has it for $161, and since there is no way i can afford the system I really want, I may just have to give this a shot.

If you’re in it for the video, this is hands down the device for you. The fact that it plays virtually any format/codec really makes this an appealing device. Other media players suffer in this area and promote the re-encoding into a proprietary video format.

UK Firm to Add Music Downloads to DAB Radio
This is a good idea. I want more of this kind of impulsive "buy this right now" kind of purchasing available to me. One of many things i like about tivo is that occasionally it knows what the commercial that is currently playing means and gives you the option to add the show to your record list with a single press of a button. I imagine that in the near future as on demand tv gets a little more popular movie advertising strategies will change pretty dramatically there will be essentially two waves. First two weeks before the movie they will get you pumped up to get into the theater, then as it becomes available as a $4 on demand movie the commercial will essentially be saying "what you're watching right now basically sucks compared to this. Press Enter and start watching The Bourne Supremacy RIGHT NOW!" And that will rock. And if someone gets really smart major retailers will start hawking impulse buys with "press enter to buy now with free 2nd day shipping!" infomercials.
Its possible (although unlikely) that this could have a really dramatic effect on the value of commercial time. You're basically running a very short infomercial so these types of commercials will likely have to be well over the usual 30 second spots and could conceivably need to run as long a 1-2 minutes. But that’s okay, because you don’t need to run them nearly as often because the goal is to get an active viewer to buy RIGHT NOW instead of imprinting the product/brand/value proposition into a passive viewer.
Yay technology! It definitely keeps things from getting boring!
